TiE Delhi-NCR and WWF India jointly hosted the WWF India’s Climate Solver Demo Day on 6th March 2020 in New Delhi. The objective of the initiative was to facilitate a platform for cleantech ventures to showcase their innovations and simultaneously look for funding opportunities.
WWF India’s Climate Solver initiative was launched in 2012 with a two-pronged strategy. It seeks to solve the climate change crisis by promoting the use of sustainable clean energy solutions developed by startups and SMEs in India so as to increase their uptake in the market. At the same time, it is trying to generate awareness about low carbon technologies as an immediate and most practical solution to tackle the climate crisis.
Some of startups in the cleantech sector such as Ricron Panels, Battery Pool, A2P, Rays Enserv, Zodhya Tech, Strawcture, Navgathi, Aegeus Technologies, Sagar Defence and Enerlyf Ventures pitched at the Climate Solver Demo Day this year. These startups were presented to an audience comprising eminent investors and cleantech domain leaders representing TIFAC, TDB, DST, AGNii, UNIDO and CII. It came to light that these startups while solving pressing environmental matters are also making waves in the business industry by creating impacts and opportunities.
Speaking of the humongous potential of these innovations, Ravi Singh, Secretary General and CEO, WWF-India said that technological and business model innovations offer the impetus to unlocking solutions for effectively tackling the climate crisis. Geetika Dayal – Executive Director, TiE Delhi-NCR, said that it was their pleasure to be associated with WWF-India. She added WWF India’s Climate Solver Demo Day aimed to provide a platform to innovative startups that are dedicated to solving some of the pressing climate-related problems and it was amazing how the startups were leveraging an innovative blend of technology and vision.
