Karnataka invites farm producers for Organics & Millets Mela 2019

3002

The state of Karnataka has always taken the lead in promoting organic food and natural farming. Particularly, the state has focused on promoting organic agricultural techniques in horticulture. Due to drought conditions in the state over the last few years, there has been a major focus on promoting arid agriculture by using millets.

Celebrating Karnataka as the source of millets and organics, Karnataka Government’s Department of Agriculture of Karnataka organizes ‘Organics & Millets Mela and International Trade Fair’ every year during winter. This national-level event aims to address all aspects of the value chain in organic food and millet segments, right from farm to shelf.

With lesser inputs required, millets are good for the planet, the farmer and for consumers’ health. The organic agriculture sector in the State is gaining momentum with markets experiencing double-digit growth year-on-year. Millets and organic foods are fast emerging as the Next-Gen Smart Foods, being highly nutritious, farmer-friendly and ecologically sound.

This year the Organics & Millets Mela is being held as a three-day event at the Palace Grounds in Bengaluru from 18 to 20 January 2019 that hosts a large exhibition, farmers workshop, conferences, consumer-connect meetings, etc. Here is a diverse list compilation of various organic food and millet-based companies exhibited at the Organics & Millets Mela:
