Bhoomi College is organizing its regular Bhoomi Santhe organic farmers market on 2 June 2018 at its Bhoomi Campus in Bengaluru. Bhoomi Santhe brings together local farmers in and around Sarjapur Road to sell their fresh organic vegetables, fruits, pulses and herbs to conscious consumers.
Bhoomi Santhe is a regular event hosted by Bhoomi College, which is an alternative institution focusing on ecological education and sustainable living. This organic farmers market is held on every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month, between 9 am to 1 pm. Apart from sales of fresh farm produce, the event includes fun and learning for children with a campus walk and a nature art workshop. Further, there will be documentary film shows and talks by eminent experts.
Producers and consumers meet here on the first Saturday of every month. They interact, take walks together and share stories with each other. This farmer-consumer interaction takes place in ‘Bhoomi Santhe’ which was initiated by Bhoomi network, an NGO based in Sarjapur, Bangalore working for sustainable and ecological development.
The farmer’s market takes place at Bhoomi College, Sarjapur which is home to hundreds of trees and various species of butterflies and birds. The college was founded in 2010 by Seetha Ananthasivan and offers long-term and short-term courses in ecology and sustainable living.
