Leading conglomerate Welspun Group has launched Welspun Disruptor, a startup pitch competition for budding entrepreneurs, offering seed funding worth INR10 Lakhs to winners for their potential ventures.
Welspun Group is one of India’s leading conglomerates with businesses in line pipes, home textiles, infrastructure, steel, advanced textiles, and flooring solutions. As part of its Welocity Initiative, the company endeavors to bring together young talent with innovative and disruptive ideas of incorporating sustainable ESG solutions into the business. It strongly believes in achieving sustainable growth and is looking for young leaders who envisage creating a similar, better future with their game-changing business ideas that transform the industry by innovation.
Welspun Group is seeking new-age ideas in this Welspun Disruptor competition that will complement its commitment to become environmentally sustainable, digitally agile organization that helps our society to become a part of the circular economy.
From the executive summaries received, the top 100 ideas will be shortlisted and will be eligible for exclusive masterclasses with Welspun leaders. Participating teams will be trained to submit a detailed business plan with an execution model, prototype, and P&L statement.
Teams will be given three frameworks for business ideas based on Environment, Social & Governance (ESG) areas to choose from. They will then have to submit their idea, focusing on tackling any one of these issues in the form of an executive summary, in a templatized 1-page document or 2-slide PPT or 2-minute video. The last date to register is 15 August 2021 and ideas need to be submitted by 26 August 2021.
