Swachh Bharat Internship invites youth for 100 hours of Swachhata

As part of the nationwide Swachh Bharat Mission, the Ministry of Human Resource Development in association with the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation has launched the ‘Swachh Bharat Internship – 100 Hours of Swachhata’. This program is in connection with the Prime Minister’s clarion call for each individual in India to devote at least 100 hours to cleanliness campaign anytime in an year.

The Swachh Bharat Internship program aims to develop skills and orient youngsters for sanitation related work; inspire youth across the country to take an opportunity to make a significant contribution to the Swachhata revolution; and integrate youth into the community service schemes in rural areas in the run up to the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

Students enrolled in various colleges/ universities may apply for Swachh Bharat Internship by carrying out at least 100 hours of cleanliness related activities in rural areas. Eligible candidates may participate individually or in teams of maximum 10 members. All participants will be given a Swachh Bharat Internship Certificate on completion of their internship and its approval by the parent institution. Further, the best three interns will be recognized at university, state and national levels, and will be presented with awards.
