The ninth annual Prakruti Bhavans Nature Festival for building ecological awareness is being organized by Bhavan’s Nature & Adventure Centre from 19 to 21 January 2018 in Andheri, Mumbai. This is a 3-day annual festival that provides a platform for interaction between nature-lovers, students and veterans in the field of nature and environment protection. Many interesting events are being organized this year such as tribal trails, floral arts, dog shows, fun science, nature photography, workshops for pet care, composting and adventure events.
The event organizer, Bhavans Nature & Adventure Centre is a unit of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, which is recognized by the Indian government as a center of national eminence. Conducted at the picturesque sprawling campus located in Bhavans Campus in Andheri, Prakruti Bhavan’s Nature Festival aims to connect people to nature by organizing zonal culture centers, literary arts and science shows.
Bhavan’s Nature & Adventure Centre, created on a prime green niche along a lake, harbors about 300 plant species, 55 bird species, 40 butterfly species and many other living creatures forming a little ecosystem right in the middle of Mumbai city. There are great opportunities for businesses to sponsor and increase their corporate social activities at this festival. The festival also creates awareness among the youth about nature-friendly activities and products.
Prakruti Bhavans Nature Festival also hosts music performances at night and there are various stalls of eco-friendly products, nature resorts, handicrafts and NGO services. The festival offers great opportunities for people interested in nature by letting them volunteer and people are also given the opportunity to set up their own stalls to display their products at the event. This festival plays an active role for the wellness of society, including the animal kingdom. It also promotes the spirit of adventure among the youth by organizing activities like rifle shooting, flying fox, commando net, archery, etc.
