Jagriti Yatra has announced the launch of the second edition of its Sustainable Enterprise Award 2018 program, a nationwide hunt for social enterprises. The competition supported by Coca-Cola India invites enterprising youth from across rural districts in India to put forward innovative entrepreneurial ideas related to Water, Agriculture and Recycling.
Availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation, promoting sustainable agriculture and reducing waste are some of the critical priorities for the sustainable development of our country. Dr. Suyog Kumar Bhavare, Chief Operating Officer, Jagriti Yatra stated, “As a natural extension to Jagriti Yatra, we wanted to invite young talent in the far-flung places of India to propose sustainable solutions in water, agriculture and recycling with an underlying spirit of entrepreneurship. So the launch of Sustainable Enterprise Award 2018 provides a compelling platform to young rural entrepreneurs to come forward and develop sustainable communities through new enterprise models across India in these critical priority areas”.
The promotional events for Jagriti Yatra’s Sustainable Enterprise Award program are being conducted across 25 selected Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities across India. Three entries each from of these 25 districts will be shortlisted by a panel of eminent jury members from Jagriti Sewa Sansthan and Coca-Cola India. Selected 75 finalists will then compete for the award during the grand finale to be scheduled in Delhi. The first of these promotional events in Karnataka is being held on 17 July 2018 at the Jawaharlal Nehru National College of Engineering in Shimoga.
Besides the trophy and monetary rewards, all members of top three winning teams will be awarded with a special waiver for the 10th Edition of Jagriti Yatra 2018. Jagriti Yatra is supposed to be the biggest train journey in the world that attracts aspiring young entrepreneurs through its vision, ‘Building India Through Enterprise’.
