Green champions of India were recognized and honored at Green India Awards 2019 held at the Second World Environment Expo 2019, which concluded today at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The awards function was held concurrently with the second edition of World Environment Conference and India Buildtech 2019 Expo.
Indian Exhibition Services and Green Society of India made a joint effort to recognize green start-ups, green product manufacturers, eco-CSR initiatives, waste management companies, etc., and awarded them with 46 different awards at the Green India Awards 2019. These awards were divided into two main categories:
- Green India Awards bestowed on companies who have created innovative products or services
- GSI Person of the Year Awards given to individuals who have done exemplary work in specific fields of environmental conservation
Green India Awards have been constituted to honor and celebrate the success of everyone who is playing a role in turning the dream of a sustainable greener planet into a reality. There is a need to identify and laud individuals and institutions who have been protecting and safeguarding the well-being of our environment, so that they serve as leading lights for others to follow and imitate.
