The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) is organizing its Global R&D Summit 2017 a two-day integrated conference and exhibition on 6–7th April 2017 at the Lalit Ashok Bangalore Hotel in Bengaluru. The event brings together local and global experts from research institutions industry, academia, government agencies, funding organizations and associated establishments that constitute the technology-based startup ecosystem.
The event aims to explore avenues of cross-country partnerships with Indian R&D-based enterprises; capture global trends in technology management; connect local and global research & development community for collaborative engagement; and create avenues for industry-academia-government partnerships. Further, the Global R&D Summit endeavors to promote best practices in innovations financing, advance progressive ideas for policy reforms and regulatory environment and build capacities for market assessment and rapid commercialization of research.
In addition, the Government of Karnataka will utilize this occasion to publish a report on “Bengaluru as Innovation Capital of India” to highlight the policy interventions done to empower startups in the city. The event also focuses on key imperatives needed for a research-based startup in the country and identify initiatives to be taken up by the government to boost innovative startups and what can be potentially done to make the market more lucrative.
