A two-day integrated event named “ Bioenergy-Urja Utsav ” is being organized by the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas in association with Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries & Agriculture and National Yuva Cooperative Society on 7th and 8th July 2017 in Pune. Hosted at Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi, the event is patronized by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation and other oil marketing companies owned by Government of India.
Bioenergy-Urja Utsav is aimed at bringing focus on the various initiatives conducted across the country in the biofuels sector and working towards developing an inclusive national policy framework and sustainable mainstreaming of such clean technologies. This event will also help to create awareness among the industry, students, farmers and the society at large about biofuels such as biodiesel, ethanol, biomass gasifiers, algae, etc.
The two-day event will be held in the ‘mela’ format with multiple activities happening in parallel such as technical sessions, exhibitions for showcasing of various indigenous and foreign technological innovations in the Bioenergy sector, workshops for – students, farmers, entrepreneurs, video shows; technical tours, information kiosks. The event will bring together policy makers, scientists, industrialists, financiers, students, farmers, entrepreneurs, media persons, NGOs and general public.
