The SEED Awards for Entrepreneurs in Sustainable Development is an annual awards scheme designed to find the most promising, innovative and locally led start-up social and environmental entrepreneurs in countries with developing and emerging economies.
SEED Award Winners are exceptional and inspiring examples of partnership-based, locally-driven, enterprises that contribute to sustainable development at the grassroots. Since 2005, over 2,000 environmental and social entrepreneurs applied for the SEED Awards from all over the world and working in various sectors.
SEED is a global partnership by agencies of the United Nations for taking action on sustainable development and building a green economy. This year, SEED is looking for the most promising, innovative and locally-led small and growing eco-friendly enterprises in India that are active in the following two sectors: Waste Management & Green ICT. Applications for the 2016 SEED Awards in India are invited and SEED is accepting application from ecologically inclusive enterprises in India until 20 September 2016.
Out of the ten finalists two SEED Award Winners will be chosen, who will receive a package of tailored support services. The 2016 SEED Awards in India are funded by the International Climate Initiative of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety and implemented in cooperation with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit.
