The Clean Energy Access Network (CLEAN), supported by Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation (SSEF), is unveiling the fourth edition of its ‘State of the Decentralized Renewable Energy Sector in India Report 2019-20’ on 25 November 2020. Further, CLEAN would also be launching the first of its kind ‘India Renewable Energy Appliances Portal’, which is supported by GIZ India.
The two launch activities will be followed by an exciting panel discussion on “DRE for Economic Resilience”. Distributed renewable energy (DRE) enterprises have been acting as dedicated providers of clean energy solutions for the under-served segments living in remote corners of India. DRE enterprises have empowered innumerable lives of rural underprivileged by creating opportunities for better livelihoods, increasing income levels, ensuring healthy living conditions, leapfrogging education opportunities and empowering women by eradicating drudgery at many levels.
The fourth edition of the State of Decentralized Renewable Energy Sector in India 2019-20 report prepared by CLEAN presents an overview of the DRE sector, technology deployments, and covers highlights of the impact created by DRE initiatives to leapfrog development.
Meanwhile, CLEAN would be launching India Renewable Energy Appliances Portal or I-REAP, which is an information repository where relevant stakeholders can access 400+ DRE products’ information, technical specification and suppliers’ details. This portal would prove to be highly beneficial in enabling various players in the DRE sector by providing information about different DRE products available in the market and help them make informed decisions.
