TreeWear is a eco-clothing company that is inspired by nature, and that aspires toward a greener planet. We believe that each one of us can create a positive impact on the environment, and we are facilitating the idea by planting a tree for each garment bought from us through our planting partners, helping to generate a sustainable balance and help stimulate rural economies around India.
As a proponent of the ethical consumerism movement, we believe that each one of us, through our choices, can buy a product that looks good, feels good, and does good too. Our garments are (mostly) organic, using certified low-impact & vegetable dyes, are minimally treated. We also try and ensure the smallest carbon footprint in the manufacturing processes, and are involved in carbon offsetting through the planting of the trees.
Not only that, but TreeWear stands for a better future, and our aim is to not only reflect that vision through the work we do with others, but also, in the way in which we work amongst ourselves. While the vision of a comsumption-less society remains sadly out of reach at present, we are trying nonetheless to work toward a “zero-waste” standard that we’ve set for ourselves within the company, using methods of recycling (in our packaging) and upcycling (through the creative use of scrap and waste materials from the manufacturing process) to ensure sustainability at every level.
Also, incorporating a social element into our work ethic is something we are determined about. We have organically developed working relationships with various NGO’s such as “Grow-Trees” to help plant the trees, and “Childreach” to aid in creating products made from recycled and upcycled materials such as rag-rugs and toys for dogs (still under development). Besides that, we have hand-picked manufacturers who employ fair business practices to ensure our clothes remain 100% guilt-free.
