Zap-E-Scrap wins 2nd spot at TYE Business Plan Competition

TiE Delhi-NCR conducted the TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE) program recently and teams named Phoolvari, Zap-E-Scrap, Senior Saathi won the TYE Business Plan Competition. The Indus Entrepreneurs, a global not-for-profit organization devoted to the advancement of entrepreneurship, conducts TiE Young Entrepreneurs, a global program aimed at fostering entrepreneurship among school and college students and nurturing budding entrepreneurs to produce innovative ideas.

A part of this program is the TYE Business Plan Competition, in which Zap-E-Scrap won the first runner up TYE award. Zap-E-Scrap is an innovative startup aimed at effective management and safe disposal of E-waste. The startup is founded by young minds that amalgamated creativity, science, and management to come up with a solution to one of the most problematic categories of garbage, E-waste. The champs not only booked the award, but also amazed the jury with their innovative idea of linking the dots in the ecosystem so as to ensure efficient E-waste management.

The roots of this innovation lie with the company’s intentions of protecting the environment by bringing electronic producers, E-waste recyclers and common citizens all on one page so that getting rid of E-waste becomes a win-win situation for all. From creating awareness about hazardous E-waste and to actually collecting and disposing of the waste, the company’s every bit takes a step closer to a healthier environment.
