Pune International Centre (PIC) is back again with its annual National Conference on Social Innovation being held on 17 November 2017 in Pune. PIC is organizing its fifth NCSI conference in association with the National Innovation Foundation (NIF) and Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), where social innovators from both urban and rural sectors are invited to present their innovative solutions to social problems.

Like every year, the NCSI conference will be attended by CSR heads of prestigious corporate companies and business incubators. Innovators such as Dr. Devi Shetty (Narayana Hrudayalaya), Dr. Abhay Bang (SEARCH), Dr. D.R. Mehta (Jaipur foot) and Dr. Rajendra Singh (Water conservation) have presented on the NCSI platform. The objective is to promote the cause of social innovation and create a platform to facilitate the collaboration between innovators and CSR initiatives.

Invited innovators can come from diverse sectors such as food, clean water, sanitation, healthcare, education, energy, transport, child and women welfare, credit, etc. Innovators should have a working prototype ready for demonstration, which should have been implemented in at a few locations and already created a social impact.

Pune International Centre is a think tank launched in 2011 and is headed by Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar as the President and Dr. Vijay Kelkar as the Vice-President. The institution works on diverse national and global issues through a range of programs. Since its launch, PIC has organized more than 100 sessions of lectures, round tables, conferences and film festivals.

A special Social Innovation Desk has been set up at PIC to assist on all matters regarding the 5th NCSI conference. You may contact PIC’s Social Innovation Desk at si@puneinternationalcentre.org or you can reach out for Rohan Akhade (7722071009) or Mithila Tupekar (7722071005).
